19th Century Caucasian Rug

19th Century Caucasian Rug

Made about 1890 in the Kasim Ushag region of the Caucuses, the rug is hand-knotted of wool on a wool foundation. The yellow, star-filled border surrounds a field containing several, natural-dyed colors including the desirable sea-foam green. Size: 4’9” wide, 7’8” long. A rare, true work of art to hang on a favorite wall.
