Fanny Homes aged 13 Stoddard, NH. Dated May 16, 1818. Composition: An outer sawtooth border enclosing a geometric floral border. Inner diamond border enclosing 4 alphabets in various sizes and scripts above 4 lines of verse about the young girl dividing her time between needle work, reading, and writing.  Excellent condition, though the first alphabet is on the light side.

An imposing sampler. Experts say that only 1 out of 50 samplers have both town and state on it: truly rare.  Bottom third of sampler depicts landscape scene with two trees on either side of a carriage shed, a weeping willow, a gate, a fence and a large house.
