Stetzenmeyer Decorated Stoneware Jar
Frederick Stetzenmeyer 4 gallon crock circa 1840, Rochester, NY. Heavy, thick cobalt used to create Stetzenmeyer's signature classic 3 leaf flower design. Stetzenmeyer was an early pioneer in successfully applying thick cobalt to stoneware. On back side of crock is a kiln stack separation mark. 9 1/2" diameter at bottom, 15 1/2" tall.
