Very Early Dome Top Box
A very early New England dome top box with red and black paint and large dovetails. Date is ~ turn of 18th century and origin is probably Maine. Dovetail work is clearly extremely old irregular form from front to back (i.e., one side is rectangular and one side is wedged). Old surface scratches reveal salmon underpainting. Size: 17″ wide, 10″ deep, 10 1/2″ tall at dome peak. SOLD
