19th Century PA Hanging Corner Cupboard

A truly one-of-a-kind hanging cupboard from southeastern Pennsylvania.  It boasts a dashing PA form and a sensational, vivid orange paint surface with bright yellow trim (along the virtuoso curved top, lining the front panel and along the fluted edges).

19th Century Painted Box With Interior Drawers

Dramatic black over green vinegar painted box.  Dovetail construction throughout.  Outfitted with a shaped tray and three beautifully crafted drawers (to accommodate needles, bobbins and buttons?)

18th Century Rose/Teaberry Painted Bowl

Very early.  Hand-turned, 5 1/2" - 6" diameter.  Maple, with great color and surface.  Wonderful heel and incised lines.  Note out of round shape.

18th Century Green Beehive Bowl

18th century green beehive bowl form has definition and balance, thick and hand-turned.  Fine painted surface.  Nice shrinkage and warping attest to its age. Tight shrinkage cracks on side and heel. Diameter: 15 1/2" - 16 1/4".

Red 19th Century PA One-Door Cupboard

Circa 1850-70.  Great surface patina.  Note chamfered interior panel, sizable dovetails.  36" wide, 55" tall, 17" deep.

Paint Decorated "Buttocks" Style Basket

Circa 1870-1910: This American antique buttocks basket from the late 19th century has great form, wonderful patina and lively green and red paint decoration. Small handmade nails, showing perfect age.  10" diameter at basket rim, 13" diameter at bottom; 6 1/2" tall from bottom to rim and 13" tall to top of fixed handle.

18th Century Tri-Color Painted Bowl

Very early, indeed: circa 1760.  Salmon and yellow over blue paint.  13 1/2" diameter, 4 1/2" tall.  Gorgeous patina.  By far one of the finest surfaces we have seen.

Early Red Painted Trencher

Great form and original paint surface make this early poplar dough trencher one of the finest examples of painted woodenware.  

Carved from a single board,  this NE or PA trencher has incised initials on bottom:  "EGS*B"   ~26" wide, 13" deep, 4" high.
